Considering low intensity extracorporeal shockwave therapy (Li-ESWT) for better erectile function?
A scientific research article published by The Journal of Sexual Medicine in January 2022 confirms that tadalafil helps improve the success of wave therapy (Li-ESWT). This study featured a device out of Germany called the Donier Aries II and showed how nearly all of the 50 men improved their overall erectile function by about 15 to 20 percent and had improvements of 25 to 32 percent in erectile firmness alone. Men in the group who got the Tadalafil, versus those with a placebo (sugar non active pill), during the treatment were more likely to be at the high end of the range of erectile improvement. It took 3 to 6 months for the difference to be demonstrated. Not only does this indicate the benefit of daily tadalafil, but the inspired healing process may be enhanced or prolonged by a temporary increase in blood flow.
Many patients may be trying to avoid the use of oral medication, and shockwave therapy has offered patients a drug-free treatment option. There are some men who remain afraid to try oral medication due to fear of dependency or tolerance issues. Fortunately, this is an excellent example of how a temporary use of an oral medication can result in a lasting erectile benefit and demonstrates that such medication is not addictive or damaging.
